Freulerpalast

Starting in 1880, the "Historische Verein des Kantons Glarus" used some rooms in the Freulerpalast to display its treasures to the public. The «Museum des Landes Glarus» opened its doors in 1946. It houses exhibitions on important cultural and social history topics in the canton of Glarus:

  • History
  • Living
  • Textile industry
  • Military
  • Skiing

The splendid, authentically renovated rooms and diverse, clearly organised exhibition spaces make the museum one of the most beautiful and exciting historical museums in Switzerland. The basic programme includes guided tours, concerts and talks as well as a special children's programme.
